What we do and why?

The Oceanport Fire Explorer Post 38-1 is an explorer post throught the Boy Scouts of America. We learn the trades of the Fire Department and assist them in outside operations at a fire scene. Since Most Fire Departments need more Volunteers, They are starting Explorer Posts to "bring in the new people".

The Oceanport Fire Explorer Post 38-1 has been very busy this past year. The post currently has 20 explorers which meet twice a month. Explorers are youths age 14 and above who have graduated the 8th grade. The explorers learn about the fire service through hands on drills in the community volunteer fire department.

The post held several fundraiser's this year including a pancake breakfast, and a car wash. They are looking forward to having more fundraiser's this coming year to raise money for training, apparel, radios/pagers, and other necessities. Post 38-1 meets at the Oceanport Hook & Ladder (on Main Street) the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 6pm. (7pm during football season) All are Welcome.

WE ARE ALWAYS SEEKING NEW MEMBERS!
